Casco Viejo Sunset Walk with Santa Ana & Fish Market

2 hours

Moderate

Enjoy a unique walking tour through Santa Ana and the surrounding historic streets, where local culture, street art, and everyday Panamanian life come together. Along the way, we will explore the legacy of the Afro-Caribbean and Jamaican communities who came to Panama and played an important role in the construction of the Panama Canal.

We will continue to the famous Fish Market to taste a fresh ceviche sample, one of Panama’s most popular local flavors.

Then, we walk into Casco Viejo, Panama’s colonial old town, to discover its history, architecture, churches, plazas, and the stories of the Spanish colonial period. We will also talk about the French presence in Panama and their first attempt to build the Canal, while observing the European influence still visible in the neighborhood’s architecture.
